Ham Long Research and Support Centre for Social Work - Ham Long Centre, is a scientific and technological organization under the management of Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Association (VUSTA), the Centre was established in accordance with the Decision No. 109/QD-LHHVN dated February 29, 2016 by the Presidium of VUSTA’s Central Council. The certificate of scientific and technological activity registration No. A-1554 is granted on March 25, 2016 and re-issued on September 08, 2017 by the Ministry of Science and Technology as a result of the amendment to HLC office’s address.   

Ham Long Centre operates according to the Law on Science and Technology dated June 18, 2013; the Decree No. 08/2014/ND-CP dated January 27, 2014 by the Government stipulating and instructing the enforcement of several articles of the Science and Technology Law; the Circular No. 03/2014/TT-BKHCN dated March 31, 2014 by the Ministry of Science and Technology guiding the conditions for the establishment and operation registration of scientific and technological organizations, representative offices or branches of scientific and technological organizations; the charter and regulations of VUSTA ratified by the Prime Minister on October 21, 2015; and the operational regulations of Ham Long Centre approved by VUSTA on February 29, 2016.

The main operations of Ham Long Centre include:

1. Conduct scientific research, propose and implement the projects in the field of social work, environmental protection and response to climate change, sustainable use of natural resources; build up and develop the organization and management system; give public health care services to the vulnerable community and carry out other social studies;

2. Provide scientific and technological services such as organizing the training courses, conferences, seminars with the focus on the fields of environmental protection and response to climate change, disaster risk reduction, mental and physical health care services to the vulnerable communities;

3.  Collaborate with domestic and international organizations to accomplish the Centre’s missions.
